Happy Father’s Day to my husband – the best dad a mom could ask for!
When I was pregnant, 9 months seemed like FOR.EVER. But while shooting my baby Wild Thing’s 9 month pictures, all I could think was, “where did that time go?!” The time just slips by you …one diaper at a time.
Happy Friday! Earlier this week I saw an image that I couldn’t get out of my head until I tried it … can you see why!? Fun, right?! … and perfect for summer. So, let’s talk about how I got … Continue reading
It’s been my pleasure to photographer this little beauty a few more times since these images. But I felt like you’d be missing out if I didn’t introduce you to her. She’s not only easy to work with but a … Continue reading
The 4th of July seem to have snuck up on me this year! Less than a week away and we have NO plans or any idea where to take the boys to see fireworks. So, before I research that for … Continue reading
I love weddings! This wedding was gorgeous – everything about it – the weather, the bride, the venue. The family was wonderful and the bridal party was so much fun! I love looking back through these images of such a … Continue reading
Happy Friday! This week I wanted to post some tips for the beginners. Whether you shoot with a DSLR or a point & shoot, the concepts are the same. There’s a LOT I learned the hard way and a LOT … Continue reading
I love when he finds something he’s never noticed before. And that he always reminds me of the little things that I love and have forgotten to slow down and notice. Thank to Lord for children.
I just love this family! I met them shortly after my family moved back to California. We did a newborn session when their youngest was 4 days old. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to capture images for them a … Continue reading
Nothing fills me up like watching my Wild Thing running around the beach. You can tell by his face, it’s his favorite place to be. I don’t think I’ll ever grow tired of capturing these images of him, just being … Continue reading
The moment I knew I was going to be a mother, my life changed. Things that I never thought twice about before suddenly became real, sometimes terrifying – a stranger walking quickly towards your babes . And small things that would make me smile suddenly filled my heart with delight – their first trip to Disneyland. Other things that had become mundane and simple were suddenly morphed into challenging and complex – going to the grocery store with two small children in tow.
As mothers, our lives are forever changed. I’m not the same person I was before them or even before the last one. They quickly grow up and grow us along with them. And for that, I thank my children – thank you Lord for my blessings.
May the days your babies completely fill your heart & soul with joy be more than the ones where they completely drain you!
Happy Mother’s Day
Just about every “Family Day” we get is spent at the beach. I could spend hours just sitting and watching my wild thing discover his newest moves. Wild Things don’t sit still, not for a moment much less a picture! So, I’ve learned to work with what I can get and just have fun with it. And if your wild thing is like mine, you can get them to “jump AGAIN!” quite a few times in order to try a composite like this one below (made up of 5 images).
Pretty soon, I’ll have 2 of them running around yelling, “Watch THIS, mom!” and the fun will be doubled!
I was absolutely amazed how alert and smiley little Easton was at just 1 month old! We had a great time and he was so tolerate of me interrupting his naps here and there.
And I just love that his parents bring him back every 3 months – he’s so much fun to work with. And if you think he’s cute here, oh man, just wait! You’ll be seeing much more of this handsome little guy … his next session is schedule for the beach and I’m pretty excited about it!
This little beauty was born 1 week after my son. So, I not only was excited to capture her as a newborn, but I’m fortunate enough to get to watch her grow up as my son’s first little friend.
It always amazes me how quickly babies change, she looks so different now. I still see the “her” I know now at 7 months, but her face is completely changed. It’s my privileged to capture these fleeting moments for another mom. Soon, she’ll be crawling and walking but her mom will always have these images of her precious newness at just 4 days old. And not everyone gets to say their job is to snuggle with babies less than a week old!
Here is gorgeous baby Katarina …
